FILMED BY CENTRAL CITY NEWS and Woody Jenkins, this is a great discussion about the issues and non-responsiveness of parties concerning the future of CPGC. A document signed last Juy21, 2025, spells out the changes they intend to make and they discuss how to sell us those changes as if they are our ideas. Full video, unedited for time.

Here is a 40 second TV Spot explaining the steps being used to take away the City Park Golf Course. They want to take the golf course and make it part of the LSU Lakes project under one independent authority – the authority to do ANYTHING with the property with no recourse for Taxpayers and residents.

Guess who has 680 signatures wanting to keep the golf course intact! WE DO!

Why IS a private foundation with billions in assets so interested in a 9 hole Public golf course??

Sasaki’s Wishful Thinking
(What is at stake is millions and millions of our tax dollars)

“Survey says: Sasaki principal Josh Brooks acknowledged both public surveys were demographically compromised.”
“Sasaki tracked 183 survey responses originating from the same public Wi-Fi—consistent with social media posts from organized stakeholders encouraging multiple submissions.”

The Reality

Sasaki’s “Data Tracking” is Actually Citizen Silencing: Friends of City Park Responds to Joshua Brooks

“On March 29, March 30, and April 1, the Historic City Park Golf Course Pro Shop became a Hub of Democracy. While Sasaki consultants watched from afar, the Friends of City Park were on the ground, hosting a public ‘Survey Drive’ to ensure that the voices of our neighbors, our seniors, and those without high-tech devices were heard.
Joshua Brooks calls this ‘demographically compromised.’ We call it community engagement.

The Truth by the Numbers: Sasaki claims they tracked 183 responses from our public Wi-Fi. They are wrong. Our records show 301 citizens—real neighbors with real names—filled out those surveys to say one thing: Keep the Golf Course Intact. If Sasaki only ‘tracked’ 183, the public deserves to know what happened to the other 118 voices. Did they simply delete the data they didn’t like?

Digital Redlining: By using ‘device-tracking software’ to limit responses to one per phone, Sasaki is effectively implementing a high-tech poll tax. They are silencing the senior citizen who doesn’t own a smartphone and the neighbor who came to the Pro Shop specifically for help navigating a complex digital portal.

Transparency vs. Suppression: Friends of City Park conducted this drive in broad daylight. We posted it on Facebook, took photos( See photos below!)of our neighbors participating, and walked them through the process. We have nothing to hide.

It is deeply troubling that a high-priced, out-of-town firm would change the rules of the game mid-stream because they didn’t like the ‘overwhelming’ support for the current course footprint. You don’t get to ignore taxpayers just because they gathered in person instead of behind a private screen.

We have the photos. We have the records. We have the people.

We are waiting for our copy of the entire survey database we have requested with our public records request.  Give us those public records the law requires you to produce.

Shame on you, Joshua Brooks. Our voices are not ‘data points’ to be managed—they are the mandate of this community.”
